There is a huge section that deals with sports on Dish TV. ESPN is quite a well known name on the network. There is a sister concerned channel of ESPN called ESPN2. This channel was originally part of the cable TV network. But later as most other channels it became part of the satellite channels. There are other events too like 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and all Barclays Premier League games that are responsible for making the channel one of the most watched channels of the US. ESPN2 started late. But within a very short span of time it reached a top spot. Its growing popularity made other places like UK and Bristol opt for this channel. The channel is on a roll and is surely going to go a long way.
