Knowledge for all on Dish TV

There are many channels on Dish TV that provide its viewers with a lot of information. Discovery Health Channel (or DHC) is one such channel. This was initially part of the cable network. But late with the progress of time, the 1999 born channel became an integral part of the satellite network. The broad topics that are discussed on this channel are wellness and health. The channel is like the sister concerned of other channels like TLC, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. All these channels are the media property of Discovery Communications Inc. The initial stage of DHC was quite rocky. It started out by playing already aired shows of Discovery Communications entities. Most of the programs were medical reality based and some shows were taken from TLS as well.

But as time passed, the channel started producing original shows. Some of the shows dealt with babies. There were informative content on special delivery of babies, and how to celebrate their birthdays in a special way. Some shows deal with plastic surgery of bodies. There are semi regular shows on CBS medical drama series. Due to some programs that were aired on this Satellite TV channel, DHC won its first Daytime Emmy in 2004. The award came for a show that dealt with adoption stories of a family. This was an original series and it came from the channel owners. But since then DHC directed most of its fitness oriented shows to its sister concerned channels like FitTV. There were talks that DHC would be replaced by another channel. But nothing of that sort has happened so far.
